In the following pages are descriptions of some of the projects undertaken by SystemSoft. In all cases the developed code belongs to the customer, SystemSoft has no interest in acquiring Intellectual Property Rights. Of course we recognise that others do value the rights to developed software and will securely protect code (and other items) that we develop.
| Project | Keywords | Overview |
|
GPS |
WDM, WinCE, 8051, UMDF, Win7 | Moving from GPS receiver hardware-based
modules through software-only GPS reception and into the Windows 7
"Location and Sensor" interface, SystemSoft has a lot of experience with GPS solutions |
|
iSCSI |
Windows Server Boot and Crashdump. TCPIP, iSCSI, SCSI, Server 2003 and Server 2008. | Retained by a high-speed NIC manufacturer, SystemSoft developed the
crashdump/boot drivers that make feasible an iSCSI-only Windows Server
deployment. This driver is particularly complex as it must run when
Windows has crashed, and must include a TCPIP stack in addition to the iSCSI support required for disk access. |
|
Ethernet-Serial convertors |
WDM, TDI, Ethernet, TCPIP. RS232, RS422, RS485, HDLC, | SystemSoft have developed many variations on this theme, including
pseudo-COM ports for PC platforms and HDLC interfaces for use in
synchronous applications. |
|
Microsoft Driver Certification |
WHQL, DTM, Winqual, Verisign. | The advent of rigid enforcement of Driver Signing for Vista (and Windows Server and Windows 7) has provided a common framework against which drivers can be tested. On behalf of customers, SystemSoft have successfully submitted drivers to the logo program at Microsoft for signing. We are Winqual and Verisign account holders and regularly test all developed drivers under the DTM regime. |
|
Stanag 5066 |
WDM, ISA, PCI, PCMCIA, RS232 | This is a NATO-standard for the provision of internet-like access
over low-grade (e.g. Ship-to-ship radio) communications. SystemSoft
worked with DERA (now
QinetiQ ) on early prototype implementation on Linux systems. Later
we have created windows drivers for a ransge of synchronous serial cards from
Comtrol GmbH. |
| TCP/IP Network Security |
WDM. NDISIM. TDI, TCPIP, UDP, DNS. |
Active Net Steward (ANS)
orginally from Security Designers but now from
Positive Compuer
Solutions is a radical approach to network security. Comprising both client and
server components it polices both incoming and outgoing traffic.
SystemSoft developed client-side drivers for all versions of Windows
between WIndows 95 and Windows XP. |
| Factory Automation |
X-Link |
X-link is a protocol conversion device focussed at Factory
Automation. SystemSoft developed drivers for the unit to introduce
several previously-unsupported protocols, including CTI2572 and Sattbus. |
| FAX Generation and Transmission |
GDI. OS/2. |
Bcwyfax from Telesmart Developments, (now part of
Microgen plc) offered a
text-to-fax Mailmerge application. SystemSoft developed the image
rendering and communication interface hosted under OS/2. |
Here's a page that lists everything ever done at SystemSoft. The detail is variable and some names have been changed out of respect for Commercial Confidentiality.
